Moustache postcards

Recently I've added some new postcards to the Red Cheeks Factory shop. These Moustache postcards have 'real' moustaches and eyebrows.

This handmade touch makes every Moustache postcard unique.

They are available as a set, but you can also buy them seperately.

Swanwalk kersteditie

This weekend I will join the Swanwalk christmas edition. It's a shopping event around het Zwaanshals, one of the nicest streets of Rotterdam and in my neighbourhood!

Together with 'Beleef je verbeelding', Paula de Loor and Diny Hofman, we have our own pop-up shop. Today we gonna set up this shop. I'm gonna paint on the window :-)

...and so I did....

The result of a part of the window. Funny, because you have to make the text the other way around. I worked first with a beamer, projected the text on my wall and painted the reversed text on paper.


....and here are the shopping swans. The rest of the etalage we do tomorrow.

Red Cheeks Factory in de Winterwinkel

On the 7th of November was the opening of the Winterwinkel in Amsterdam. I was there and took photographs, but they didn't turn out very well. (wrong settings on my camera, stupid!!)

But I was lucky enough my favorite brother was so sweet to visit this lovely shop and took some nice pictures. Thank you very much, Jan, highly appreciated!

Announcement Opening WinterWinkel in Amsterdam

Today La Grande Opening of the WinterWinkel in Amsterdam. Just as last year the ladies of the Ka-Ching Collectief  organised a pop-up Shop in the center of Amsterdam. I'm happy Red Cheeks Factory is selected to join with 25 other participants!

Here's a photo I took of the building when I brought my products last Friday:

It's in a nice building (a former pleausure house ;-)) with 3 levels. Enouph room for a shop, an office and a workshop space. The opening is from 16.00 till 18.00 hour at the Oudezijdse Achterburgwal 121. You are all invited!

Affirmation Angela

Let me introduce you to: Affirmation Angela, supporter of positive thinking. 

Positive thinking

I'm not always good in positive thinking. I know it helps to do so, but sometimes negative thoughts take the overhand. Some time ago I've read the book positivity from Barbara Fredrickson. Inspiring!

It really helps to transform negative thoughts into positive ones. Or to get inspired by a nice and stimulating sentence as: 'make it happen!' It makes me happy ;-)

New product

Because I know I'm certainly not the only one busy with this subject, I thought it would be nice, to develop a product to support people on their journey. And what could be more supportive than  a kind of 'guardian' angel. So I developed this little angel Affirmation Angela. 

You can cut her out, fold her following the instructions. Put her on your desk, on your kitchen table, in your bookshelf or wherever you want. She can hold an affirmation card on her lap. To inspire you or to remind you to be positive.

kunstfestival Schiebroek

Coming Saturday the 13th of September I will show and sell my work
on the Art-Market Schiebroek.

Last year I was there too, but then it rained and there was a lot of wind.
Now they promise sun, so that sounds good!

The Market is on the Rhododenderonplein and the Peppelweg in Schiebroek near Rotterdam  It's from 10.00 till 16.00 hour. There will also be street theatre.

You are very welcome to visit the festival and if you do, come and say hello to me. :-))

Muscle Man Paper Doll now also in English!

I have a house full of Muscle Man Paper Dolls! He was sold out, but...
I've  ordered a whole bunch of new ones :-)

I've chaged two little things: the text is handwritten. And I'm happy to say he's now also available in English:  'be strong':  And ofcourse also 'with the Dutch word: 'sterkte!

Red Cheeks Factory patterns

This week I'm busy with patterns. Since the Make Art That Sells course, I'm interested in making them.and this week I opened an account on Spoonflower, a huge community where you can sell and buy all kind of fabrics, giftwraps, wallpapers etc.

Aboves design: 'jelly party' I've made some time ago,. It was the March-assignment for Bootcamp. Since I started in May, I wanted to do the assignment, because it was such a fun theme.

Below a dancing rhinos pattern. On Spoonflower they have a weekly contest and the theme was rhinoseroses. I never drew one, but I liked that too. You can vote on your favorite designs, maybe my dancing rhinos? If you want to vote, you are invited, click and scroll . Thanks in advance ;-)

And below a 'nerdie' design. I made this some time ago. I like to present the designs on a person and this fabric would be great for a pyama, don't you think?

Thiese days I worked very hard, because I heard there was free shipping on Spoonflower. Before you can sell your designs there, you need to order some samples, to see if the quality and the colors are right. So I've put a collection of 12 designs in my shop. Within two weeks I will receive the samples and then it's ready to purchase. I will let you know.

moustache twins: product of the week!

A nice surprise when I openend the Dawanda newsletter today:

My moustache twins postcard is product of the week. :-)

Dawanda is an inspiring place where you can buy nice things and gifts.
I recently opened a shop to sell my Red Cheeks Factory products.
I still want to add more products, but it's already a start.

Dawanda focusses on the Dutch market, but I also translated my shop into German..
(I often have to laugh when I see these translations. German is a funny language :-))
And ofcourse I also translated it into English.

It is already springtme in Holland. Allthough it's the beginning of March
The sun is shining and the temperature today will be 17 degrees!

Everything looks extra nice with some sunshine. The trees already begin
to develop their fresh green leaves and the flowers appear in many colors.
It's so promising!

This all inspired me to make this illustration of a dancing girl.
Her hands form a big heart above her head, she celebrates life!
The title is 'love for life' and at this moment I really love it :)

opening winterwinkel

Yesterday I was at the opening of de Winterwinkel in Amsterdam.
I wrote about it in my last blogpost

It was very nice to see how the empty space, which I had seen the day before
had turned into a real shop, with a variety of nice products.

Very good to see how much work can be done by real team-work.
The organizing Ka-ching collectief seems to be a good team!

There were a lot of people, good to see also customers among them already :-)
It was also nice to meet other participants of this pop-up shop.

If you have a chance and you are in the neighbourhood,
you should have a look, it's very close to the Central Station.
in de Haarlemmerstraat 25. It's open till December the 1st.

Plop!.... a pop-up shop!

Today an Etsy Pop-up Shop will pop up in the center of Amsterdam. It's called 'de winterwinkel', which means 'wintershop'. They sell all kind of nice, handmade and vintage items for under the christmas tree.

And guess what?
Red Cheeks Factory prints and postcards will be also available there :-)

This week I was busy with framing prints and organizing everything.
Yesterday I brought my work to Amsterdam.

I've met the enthusiastic organizing team: the ladies of the Ka-ching collectief.
They build up the shop and this afternoon (friday the 22nd) it will be open for the public.
There's an openings-party from 16.00 hour till 18.00 hour.
I will be there too!

The winterwinkel will be open from November the 22nd till December the 2nd
