I'm reading a book about life and work of Klaas Gubbels,
a famous Dutch artist. His work fascinates me.
Especially the fact he paints the same subjects
(mostly tables and coffeepots) over and over again
and makes so many variations on this theme.
...doing more with less...

Wat leuk Nelleke!
Ik hou erg van het werk van Gubbels, hoewel het nu in mijn eigen werk niet meer echt terug te zien is heb ik er in mijn academie-tijd veel aan gehad. Mooi, die op het oog simpele vormen. Afgelopen jaar heb ik voor mijn 30e verjaardag van vrienden en familie een originele Gubbels houtdruk gekregen, ik ben er nog iedere dag blij mee!
Er is trouwens een erg mooie docu van het Uur van de Wolf aan hem gewijd, zeer de moeite waard!

I feel the same thing when I see yours.
I feel you and he have a lot of creative freedom. and it is something that I have not.
and I admire people with that kind of freedom!!!!
